'Church' the Film -- Coming Soon

‘Church’ is a musical-comedy-drama based on typical Sunday services at the fictional “Glorious New Life Greater Emmanuel Faith Tabernacle Church of The Living God In Christ Up on the Hill.” The movie is a production of Gospel Jam, LLC and directed by Cory King and Foster Corder. King and Corder also serve as producers of “Church”.

Political Strategist and Businessman Tommy Ross, C.E.O of Pinnacle Strategic Group, Inc. is Executive Producer.

If there’s one thing every African American person can relate to, it’s church. Whether it’s the uplifting songs, the charismatic preacher, the perpetually long services, the incessant gossip or the eventual backstabbing, every African American has a story about the church he or she attends. What we’ve done is take the funniest of those stories, lump them together with some unforgettable characterizations, then blend that with some dynamic, original music to create a cinematic experience that is unlikely to ever be forgotten.

"Where everybody is somebody"

Of course, what would “Church” be without some drama. When the “prodigal son,” Daniel Rhodes reappears and takes over as the church’s Youth Leader, he encounters things that he (nor any other person for that matter) could never prepare for: A small, run-down, yet beloved church building, unruly, yet talented children, a jealous Assistant Pastor, a corrupt Deacon and an overall rambunctious congregation make up his “Wall of Jericho.”

Overcoming these obstacles prove to be a challenge, but Daniel’s greatest test lies ahead as the church’s bleak financial outlook, coupled with corruption from within threatens to close the doors for good. As Daniel and his congregation prepare to slay their “giant,” the walls begin to close in on them and their church. But as the popular song tells us, “when you praise, your giants, problems, and obstacles have got to come down.
